The campaign is on fire today due to a Wired News Interview by Eliot Van Buskirk and a subsequent Digg followup.
Many people from all over the country (and one American in Dublin) have been sending in their support, both financial and verbal. Thanks to all!
I returned yesterday from hitting my 16th Democratic county convention. The Deseret News covered my stop in Washington County. People are fighting mad over Divine Strake, as am I.
One thousand signs went out the door in April and another thousand are well on the way. This campaign is getting good traction everywhere!

I actually e-mailed Wired suggesting that they interview you on around April 24, and I’m wondering if they did so because of my suggestion. Here’s the e-mail I sent:

I think you should do a story about Pete Ashdown. He’s running against
Orrin Hatch in Utah. Here’s what’s notable about him:
* He uses a Wiki for his campaign platform
* He’s running against the DMCA
* He’s a techie, and he founded Utah ISP XMission
Maybe interview him or something. It would be cool.
I submitted the Wired News interview to Digg soon after I read it. This is the first time one of my submissions made it to the homepage! I was a little nervous about the title that I used, but the description seemed apt. Hopefully, it helped get the word out. Although I don’t live in Utah, I wish you the very best of luck.
Just wanted to wish you the best of luck, Pete! I’m from California, but I support your effort 100%. I’m a college student so I was only able to donate $10, but I start my job on the first of july after I graduate, and I hope to be able to donate much more then!
How do I get my hands on some of your campaign signs? I would love to plaster my small town with em’.
