Law Enforcement and First Responders

Local law enforcement and first responders are amongst the most effective use of federal funds, yet we have see damaging budget cuts in these areas. On the other hand we've seen an increase of spending for Homeland Security equipment in areas of Utah where it makes no sense to have any. This is a prime example of the disconnect between local governments and their federal representatives. Dollars are effectively spent on these areas and they should receive full federal funding.
