 Passed House:  Randall Jeppesen Reports

SALT LAKE CITY-(KSL News) -- A bill passed in the Utah House this week will require internet service providers to offer free pornography filters to customers.

It will also give the Attorney General's office the task of identifying which websites are harmful to children and need to be blocked .

X-Mission President Pete Ashdown says their company uses a filter that has thousands of people working on it to try and identify the rapidly growing number of pornographic sites.

Ashdown says the bill isn't really needed because most Utah companies already offer filters. He says the bill will put an enormous task on the Attorney General's office.
